We
do NOT teach in alphabetical order.
This has 2 major advantages: the
first is that children actually learn the letters and sounds
versus memorizing them (Have you ever met a child that thinks "lmno"
is one letter?), the second is that by teaching these most
common letters first, we are able to begin blending those
letters together to form common words much earlier than if we
taught in alphabetical order.
Children
sound out words after just 5 letters.
Children do not need to know the
entire alphabet before they learn sounding out skills. By
teaching children to sound out words after just 5 letters,
children have early success which drives excitement and further
motivates them to learn to read. Imagine your child reading
